Step 1 - Check the fuse If your MMI doesn't start up at all, then it's probably not receiving power. The fuses that control many of the MMI modules are located in a compartment in the left side of your trunk. Pry open the side panel in the trunk and inspect the fuses. Use a multimeter to check the fuses and ensure one of them isn't burned out.

Unfortunately my mmi in my 2010 A6 Avant has stopped working properly. Its the basic with dvd nav and Bluetooth. When I put the key in the ignition the mmi screen doesn't come on at all. I start the car and still nothing. The controls/buttons are not illuminated either and unresponsive.
If you have vagcom, you can diagnose the problem. If you have sound, the problem can be the screen. If you dont have sound, the problem can be Gateway. If you dont give a code your new battery, it work but it is advisable code so that sistem knows that it has a new battety and what battery.
